Men Capture Two First Place Finishes At Janet Evans Invitational

Stanford swimmers posted two first place finishes, and two second place finishes during the four-day-long Janet Evans Invitational that concluded Sunday at McDonald's Swim Stadium on the USC campus.
In the 100 backstroke it was Hongzhe Sun taking first with his winning time of 56.16. Sun defeated second place finisher Simon Burnett (56.21) of Ford by a slim .03 seconds to claim the title.
Wildman-Tobriner earned a second place finish in the 50 free as he finished in a time of 22.55, just .06 seconds behind the winner Nick Brunelli of San Diego (22.49). Daniel Priestly earned a 20th place finish in the B consolation final (23.95), followed right behind by Connor McColl in 21st place (24.08).
In the 100 breaststroke, Paul Zaich posted a second place finish with his time of 1:03.36. Nate Cass (1:03.74), Egan Gans (1:04.35), and B.J. Johnson (1:05.83) finished ninth, 11th, and 13th in the consolation final, respectively. Karl Boehringer took 17th in the B consolation final in a time of 1:05.15.
