Cougar Tennis Signs Ekaterina Kamendova

PULLMAN, Wash. - Washington State University Head Tennis Coach Lisa Hart has signed Ekaterina Kamendova to a National Letter of Intent for the 2007-08 season, it was announced Tuesday. Kamendova will enroll at WSU for the 2007 fall semester.

'We are ecstatic to welcome Kate to the Cougar family,' said Hart. 'She is an amazingly gifted player and will prove to be a dominating force on the court.'

Kamendova, a Moscow, Russia native, has held Russian junior age-group national rankings, reaching a high of No. 4 in 2003 in the girls under 14. In 2004 she attained a No. 15 ranking in the under 14, winning two national tournaments while reaching the finals of three others.

Kamendova is the second student-athlete to sign a National Letter of Intent with WSU for the 2007-08 school year, joining Jessica Gomez Velazquez, who signed earlier this summer.
