Women's Golf 2006-07 Season Review

Top-ranked Arizona State won the team championship shooting a 33-over 897 for the three-day tournament. The Sun Devils led the field each day and beat 11th-ranked UCLA by 18 strokes. No. 6 USC finished third with a 57-over 921, No. 15 Arizona was fourth at 59-over and California shot a 62-over, good for fifth. No. 8 Stanford (+71), No. 60 Washington (+74), No. 45 Washington State (+80), No. 50 Oregon (+108) and No. 59 Oregon State (+188) followed.
UCLA sophomore Tiffany Joh sunk a long birdie putt on the final hole to force a two-way playoff with ASU freshman Anna Nordqvist, and then made another birdie on the second playoff hole at No. 18 to win the Pac-10 women's golf championship
UCLA placed second behind Duke and Purdue at the NCAA Golf Championship, shooting a 1186, followed by the Trojans at fourth and Stanford with a fifth place finish. Five Pac-10 teams finished among the Top-15 with ASU completing the four-round tournament at 13th while Arizona finished in a tie for 14th.
ASU's Anna Nordqvist was named both Pac-10 Golfer of the Year and Freshman of the Year. ASU coach Melissa Luellen was named Pac-10 Coach of the Year.
