Jeff Clement, Ian Kennedy Named To Baseball America Midseason All-Stars Team

Clement, the third overall selection of the 2005 draft by the Seattle Mariners, is batting .272 with 26 doubles, 16 home runs and 54 RBI for the Tacoma Rainiers as a catcher (Pacific Coast League-AAA). The left-handed slugger hit .370 in the month of June with eight home runs and 23 RBI.
Kennedy, a right-handed pitcher and 2006 first-round selection (22nd overall) by the New York Yankees, is 11-2 this season with a 1.71 ERA in 17 combined starts at the High A and AA levels. He is currently 5-1 with a 2.47 for the Trenton Thunder (Eastern League-AA).
In 106 2/3 combined innings this season, Kennedy has allowed just 63 hits while walking 38 batters and striking out 123 with opponents hitting just .174 against him.
Both players were consensus first team All-Americans in 2005 for the Trojans and were two-time members of the U.S. National Team.
