Johnson, Williams and Leach Advance at PanAm Games

Former Bruins Sheena Johnson and Ysanne Williams, along with current trackster Nicole Leach, all advanced to the final round of their respective events on day two of the track and field portion of the PanAm Games in Brazil.

Johnson and Leach both won their heats in the 400m hurdles as they head to the final with the No. 1 and No. 2 times of the competition. Johnson posted a time of 55.55, while Leach ran 55.77. They will run for medals on Wednesday in the final of that event.

In the 800m semifinal round, Ysanne Williams (competing for Jamaica) posted the fourth-fastest time of the day (2:02.49). She was also fourth in heat two. The final for the 800m will be held on Tuesday.
