Johnson Wins Gold, Leach Bronze at PanAm Games in 400m Hurdles

Former Bruin Sheena Johnson won the PanAm 400m hurdles title on Wednesday afternoon in Brazil as she won the event in a time of 54.64. Current Bruin Nicole Leach was third in a time of 54.97 to earn the bronze medal.

Also on Wednesday, junior Rhonda Watkins finished fifth in the long jump competition with a mark of 21-0.75. Former Bruin Monique Henderson placed sixth in the 400m in a time of 52.28.

Johnson, Leach and Watkins will next head to the World Championships in Osaka, Japan in late August.
