Klineman and US Take Fourth at Junior World Championships

Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand - The US Women's Junior National Team, with Stanford's Alix Klineman and Cassidy Lichtman, took fourth at the FIVB U-20 Junior World Championship on Friday in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand.
After finishing pool play with a 4-1 record, the US dropped the semifinal match to defending champion Brazil on Thursday, 25-14, 25-19, 25-15. Klineman tallied nine points coming from eight kills and an ace.
On Friday, Team USA fell short in its quest for the bronze, dropping a five-game match to Japan 25-16, 14-25, 25-17, 20-25, 25-23. Despite the loss, the US squad rewrote USA Volleyball record books as the first women's junior national team to finish in the top four at the World Championship. Klineman led the match with 34 points on 31 kills, two blocks and an ace.
