Bixler, Prugh Shine In Second Round Of Pacific Coast Amateur

CHULA VISTA, Calif. - Washington senior-to-be Zach Bixler and recent Husky graduate Alex Prugh turned in top notch performances in the second round of the Pacific Coast Amateur in Chula Vista, Calif., Wednesday.

Prugh shot a 4-under 68 and moved into a tie for sixth place in the overall standings. Prugh is 2-under 142 after carding a 2-over 74 in the first round.

After a disappointing first round that saw him card a 10-over 82 on Tuesday, Bixler turned things around with a 3-under 69 in the second round. He is tied for 58th at 7-over 151. The other current Husky competing in the event is Joel Dahmen who is tied for 46th at 5-over 149. He shot a 2-over 74 in the second round.

Also in action this week are Darren Wallace and future Husky Kevin Spooner at the Canadian Junior Boys Championship in Ile Bizard, Quebec. Wallace carded 3-over 75 in today's third round and is tied for 49th at 11-over 227 going into Thursday's final round. Spooner didn't make the final round cut at 18-over.
