Prugh Two Strokes Behind Leaders Heading Into Pacific Coast Amateur Final Round

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - Former Husky Alex Prugh shot a 2-under 70 in the third round of the Pacific Coast Amateur, Thursday, and will enter tomorrow's final round two strokes behind the leaders at 4-under 212 overall.

Prugh is tied with three other golfers in third place heading into the final 18 holes to be played Friday at the San Diego Country Club. Prugh shot 2-over 74 and 4-under 68 in the first two rounds. Another former Husky, Derek Berg, is two strokes behind Prugh at 2-under 214 and is tied for eighth.

Two current Huskies are also competing in the tournament with sophomore-to-be Joel Dahmen tied for 30th at 4-over 220. Dahmen carded his best round on Thursday with a 1-under 71. Senior-to-be Zach Bixler is tied for 62nd at 12-over 228. Bixler shot 5-over 77 in the third round.

The other current Husky competing this week is sophomore-to-be Darren Wallace. Wallace completed the Canadian Boys Junior Championship, Thursday, finishing in a tie for 55th at 17-over 305. His final round scored was his highest of the four-day tournament, 6-over 78.
