Thomas Abercrombie Helps New Zealand Past Thailand

BANGKOK, Thailand - Washington State guard Thomas Abercrombie scored 10 points for New Zealand in a 108-73 men's basketball victory over Thailand at the World University Games, Thursday.

The Auckland native added six rebounds as New Zealand held a 51-23 advantage on the glass.

New Zealand used a 13-0 run over the end of the first and start of the second quarters to open a 28-12 lead.

An 11-0 run closed Thailand within 49-46 in the third quarter before New Zealand stretched its edge to 63-54 heading into the final stanza.

A 19-4 run to open the fourth quarter put the game away for New Zealand as it outscored Thailand 45-19 in the final 10 minutes.
