Prugh Ties For Third At Pacific Coast Amateur

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - Two former Washington men's golfers finished among the top-10 players at the Pacific Coast Amateur held at the San Diego Country Club, Friday. Alex Prugh shot an even-par 72 in the final round tying for third at 4-under 284, while Derek Berg tied for fifth at 3-under 285 after carding a final-round score of 1-under 71.

Prugh finished six shots behind the medalist Mike Knight, who carded a final round score of 4-under 68 and was 10-under 278 overall.

Two current Huskies also competed in the tournament with sophomore Joel Dahmen tying for 29th at 4-over 292. Dahmen carded an even-par 72 in Friday's final round, his second-best effort of the four-day tournament after shooting a 1-under 71 on Thursday.

Senior Zach Bixler finished 16-over 304 and tied for 63rd place. Bixler shot a 4-over 76, Friday.
