Stanford Wraps Up First Week Of 2007 Training Camp

Stanford, Calif. - The Stanford Football team wrapped up its first week of 2007 training camp with an intense and spirited practice Sunday at the Elliott Football Practice Fields. The three-hour practice focused on special teams with the Cardinal using an hour of the workout for that purpose. Much of the practice was focused on 11-on-11 drills with two red zone sequences taking up the last half-hour. A couple of touchdown passes from T.C. Ostrander to Anthony Kimble were among the highlights on the field.

Stanford head coach Jim Harbaugh was enthusiastic during a post-practice speech to the team.

Stanford will be back on the practice field early Monday for the first of two workouts. The first will get underway at 8:30 am, PT. The team will return to the practice field at 6:50 pm, PT.

Sunday's other activities included weightlifting, a series of meetings, red zone seminars conducted by coordinators David Shaw and Scott Shafer, and the daily three meals.

Lights out and bed check are scheduled for 10:30 pm, PT, one-half hour earlier than the typical time of 11:00 pm, PT, in preparation for Saturday's early-morning practice. Both of Monday's workouts are open to the public and free of charge.

Harbaugh And Killsgaard Featured On Local TV And Newspaper Media Sunday: Stanford head coach Jim Harbaugh and freshman safety Kellen Kiilsgaard were featured in local media stories on Sunday. Harbaugh was interviewed by KNTV Channel 11 following Sunday's practice for the television station's Sports Sunday show that will air on Sunday, August 12, beginning at approximately 11:25 pm, PT. Kiilsgaard story of rescuing a father and daughter in the water in Maui last February was told in both the San Francisco Chronicle and San Jose Mercury News.
