The Washington football team will hold an open practice this Saturday, August 18, at Husky Stadium as all fans are invited to attend. Practice gets underway at 2:30 p.m. and is scheduled to end at approximately 5:20 p.m.
Fans are invited to sit in any open seats in the lower bowl (other than those areas that migth be cordoned off due to maintainence work). Parking anytime after noon is free.
'It'll be a good opportunity for the entire Husky family to come out and see the Huskies go through practice,' Coach Tyrone Willingham said.
Saturday's practice will mark just about the midway point of the fall practice season as, 13 days later, the Huskies will take on Syracuse in the season opener at the Carrier Dome. That game will air live on ESPN at 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time.
As for this week, after no workout on Sunday, the Huskies had just their second day of two-a-day practices Monday, following a two-a-day session last Friday. They'll also have two practices Wednesday, Friday and next Monday and Wednesday before settling into more of a game-week mode.
At the morning practice, senior wide receiver Corey Williams was the only player wearing the esteemed gold jersey, signifying his outstanding efforts in previous practices. The morning workout was in full pads. Tuesday's lone practice of the day will be in the afternoon.
