Cougar Volleyball to Hold Open Scrimmage Saturday

Aug. 17, 2007

PULLMAN, Wash. - Cougar volleyball Head Coach Brian Heffernan invites the public to attend a volleyball scrimmage, Saturday, Aug. 18, at 2:30 p.m. in Bohler Gym. Several Cougar volleyball alumni will join current team members to take on the returning letterwinners for the WSU team.

The 2007 WSU volleyball squad is composed of 13 players with eight returning letterwinners from the 2006 team that was still in contention for an NCAA tournament bid late in the season.

Heffernan begins his fourth season as head coach of the Cougars and is joined by Ken Ko, Associate Head Coach in his third year with the program, and Assistant Coach Gretchen Killebrew, in her first year at WSU.

All seating for the scrimmage will be in the upper concourse of the gym.

The Cougar women's volleyball team will begin the 2007 season by hosting the Baden Cougar Challenge Tournament, Aug. 24-25, at Bohler Gym, taking on teams from the University of Portland, Northern Colorado and South Dakota State.
