Former ASU All-American Juan Roque Hired By FSN Arizona As Its New Analyst For ASU Football Telecasts

TEMPE, Ariz. - Juan Roque, who was a consensus All-American offensive tackle for Arizona State University during the historic 1996 Rose Bowl season, has been hired as the new analyst for ASU football game telecasts on FSN Arizona. Roque, who also played in the National Football League with the Detroit Lions, is set to team with ASU play-by-play man Trey Bender for Sun Devil games on the network in 2007.

'Juan is well known as a member of the 1996 ASU Rose Bowl team and he will bring his passion for the Sun Devils and knowledge of football to our announce booth. We are excited by the energy he will bring to our telecasts and believe our viewers will enjoy hearing stories from his days at ASU and in the NFL.'
Roque, who lives in the Valley, was a member of ASU's Pacific-10 Conference champion football team in 1996 that played Ohio State in the 1997 Rose Bowl .He was drafted that year in the second round of the NFL Draft by the Detroit Lions as the 35th selection overall. Roque is one of seven Sun Devil football players who have been selected as consensus All-Americans in schoo=l history. He was a two-time first team All-Pac-10 Conference choice in 1995 and 1996.
At this time, FSN Arizona will produce two Arizona State football games this season. Roque's first appearance in the booth will be on Saturday, Sept. 15 , when the Sun Devils host San Diego State at 7 p.m. Following that game, the network will produce ASU's game at Oregon on Saturday, Nov. 3 (3:30 p.m.).
The Sun Devils are also set to be featured twice in an FSN nationally televised (Colorado on Sept. 8 and California on Oct. 27). More games could be added as the season progresses.
In 2006, Roque served as the color analyst for ASU's Spanish radio football broadcasts and he has also worked as a television host for Fox Sports Latin Americas during Super Bowl XXXII when Denver beat Green Bay in San Diego.
