Several Tempe Streets Closed for ASU Football Game

On Saturday, Sept. 1, several streets around the Tempe campus will be closed or restricted due to ASU's football game against San Jose State.

The following restrictions could temporarily affect access into ASU lots and structures and create traffic delays around campus. In order to help our customers avoid problems caused by game traffic, Parking and Transit Services wants to remind everyone that on football game days, vehicles with any ASU parking permit are allowed to park in any ASU lot and structure south of University Drive, except in reserved stalls, residence hall and ASU service vehicle lots.

Veterans Way between College Avenue and Sixth Street will be closed in both directions from approximately 90 minutes before the 7 p.m. kickoff until after the game ends.Eastbound and westbound Loop 202 off-ramps at Scottsdale Road will be closed during the third quarter of the football game until after the game ends.

In order to accommodate postgame traffic, the following streets will be closed from late in the third quarter until after the game ends:

Scottsdale Road between Rio Salado Parkway and Curry Road will be closed to southbound traffic.Rural Road between Sixth Street and University Drive will be closed to northbound traffic.University Drive between Rural Road and McClintock Drive will be closed to westbound traffic. One westbound lane will be provided on University between Athletes Place and McClintock for local business access.Rio Salado Parkway between Scottsdale Road and McClintock Drive will be closed to westbound traffic.

All closures and restrictions are subject to change at the discretion of police based upon safety and traffic concerns.
