Diana Hong Top Cougar after Two Rounds in The Ptarmigan Ram Fall Classic

FORT COLLINS, Colo. - Sophomore Diana Hong leads the pack of Cougars and sits in a tie for fifth place after completing the first two rounds of the Ptarmigan Ram Fall Classic, at the par 72, 6, 223 yard, Ptarmigan Country Club.

The third place Cougars have two women sitting among the top 20 and finished day one just one shot out of second place. The Cougars hope to track down tournament leader California who is eleven shots up on its closest competitor.

After completing 36-holes of play, Hong leads the Cougars after shooting a combined total of 146, ending the day at just two-over par. Junior Amy Eneroth also made an impact in her first rounds of the season, posting a thee-over par 147, good for a tie for tenth. Junior Jessica Black and Senior Tracy Broders both finished the first two rounds in a tie for 27th place at six-over par. Senior Brooke Henderson rounds out the Cougar contingent sitting in a tie for 49th at 11-over par.

'We should be making some progress tomorrow and we are playing really well. Hopefully, we will keep it up,' said Assistant Coach Kari Sampson.

Play continues at the par 72, 6,223 yard course with the third and final round on Tuesday, Sept. 11. All tee times begin at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start.
