Forrest Tabbed National Player of the Week By College Soccer News

Sept. 17, 2007

SEATTLE - Washington senior forward Kevin Forrest was named the National Player of the Week by CollegeSoccerNews.com, the online publication announced Monday.

Forrest (Edmonds, Wash.) led the Huskies to back-to-back road wins over No. 28 New Mexico (1-0) and No. 3 SMU (2-0) this past weekend en route to winning the Nike/Crescent Financial Solutions Invitational title. Forrest accounted for two of UW's three goals in those matches and was named to the all-tournament team, along with three other Huskies.

Forrest had the gamewinner in the 61st minute versus the host Lobos, Friday, and tallied the second of UW's two scores versus SMU in the 84th minute, Sunday. The MAC Hermann Trophy candidate and preseason All-American now has five goals on the year.

Forrest is no stranger to national accolades already early on, being named to the Soccer America and Top Drawer Soccer National Teams of the Week after the first week of the season. He was also tabbed as the season's first Pac-10 Player of the Week (Sept. 4).

The Huskies (3-1-1) will make their home debut hosting Portland (2-1-1) Tuesday, Sept. 18, at 7 p.m. at Husky Soccer Field. UW will then host the Husky Fever Classic Friday, Sept. 21 and Sunday, Sept. 23.
