Mallory Fox and Brynn Bemis Earn National Recognition

Sept. 19, 2007

PULLMAN, Wash. - Washington State redshirt-freshman Mallory Fox and senior Brynn Bemis were honored by Soccer America and Soccer Buzz, respectively, for their play last week in the Notre Dame Inn at Saint Mary's Classic.

Fox, a midfielder from Scottsdale, Ariz., scored the lone goal of the match in Washington State's 1-0 upset of No. 16 Oklahoma State Sept. 21. The goal was the second of the season for Fox and earned her a spot on Soccer America's Team of the Week.

Bemis, a goalkeeper from Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, stopped all seven shots in WSU's win over the Cowgirls to record the ninth shutout of her career. Against Princeton, she made five saves including one on a penalty kick in the 72nd minute as the Cougars defeated the Tigers 2-1 in double-overtime Sept. 23. Bemis was named to Soccer Buzz's Elite Team of the Week.
