Sept. 20, 2007

Ali Riley and the New Zealand Women's National Team dropped its third and final game of the Women's World Cup 2-0 to host nation China early Thursday morning. The game, which was played in Tianjin, China, was close throughout the match but two second half goals led to New Zealand's demise and eventual elimination.

New Zealand's loss is about to be Stanford's gain though as sophomore forward Ali Riley is set to join the Cardinal in Boulder, Colo. for the Colorado Tournament.

Riley is coming off a very productive freshman season in which she scored four goals and added two assists. She started 15 of the 18 games she played in the last season.
