THIS WEEK: Washington State plays at Lower Soccer Field in its final two home non-conference matches of the season...plays UC Santa Barbara Friday, Sept. 28 at 3 p.m. and Idaho State Sunday Sept. 30 at noon.

NATIONAL RANKINGS: Washington State is ranked 18th nationally by Soccer America and 23rd by Soccer Buzz...receiving votes in National Soccer Coaches Association of America and Soccer Times polls...first time in school history Cougars have been ranked in consecutive weeks by multiple polls.

COUGARS SURGE AFTER HALFTIME: Washington State has netted nine of its 11 goals this season after intermission...Cougars have scored seven times in the second half and twice in the second overtime period.

ABOUT UC SANTA BARBARA: The Gauchos are 3-3-2 including 1-1 on the road...Romy Barber leads the team with three goals and six points...Kailyn Kugler (two) is the only other Gaucho with multiple goals this season.

COUGAR-GAUCHO SERIES: UCSB won 2-0 at home Oct. 8, 1993 in the only previous meeting.

WSU AGAINST THE BIG WEST: The Cougars are 6-8-2 all-time against current members of the Big West Conference including 2-2-1 in Pullman.

HONORING THE LEGACY IN WOMEN'S ATHLETICS WEEKEND: The Washington State University Athletics Department will proudly host a celebration Sept. 28-29, 2007 to honor the women who began the legacy of Cougar Athletics...honorees will include women student-athletes and coaches who represented Cougar Athletics prior to the 1982-83 school include a dedication of the tennis facility, a panel discussion, and a celebratory banquet (Sept. 29) where over 200 honorees will be presented a varsity letter award...those attending can be found at the following website:

ABOUT THE BENGALS: Idaho State is 4-3-1...has not won outside of Pocatello dropping two matches on the road and posting a 0-1-1 record at neutral sites...plays at Gonzaga Friday...Jana Boehler leads the Bengals with three goals and eight points.

WSU-IDAHO STATE SERIES: Cougars lead 2-0 with a 2003 victory at home (2-0) and a 2005 road win (2-1)...current WSU senior Molly Alexander tallied first goal of the match in 2005.

COUGARS AGAINST THE BIG SKY: WSU is 17-6-1 all-time against current members of the Big Sky Conference...defeated Montana 2-1 in Missoula to open 2007 season.
