Golfers Fall Back to Fourth Place at Fall Preview

The top-ranked UCLA women's golf team fell back to fourth place Tuesday in the second round of the Fall Preview hosted by New Mexico at its campus championship course in Albuquerque, NM.
The Bruins posted a team score of 294 (+2) for a two-day total of 585 (+1). They trailed first-place Duke by 12 shots. The Blue Devils lead the field with a two-round total of 573 (-11). USC shot a seven-under par score of 285 and was second at 577 (-7), followed by Arizona State at 582 (-2). Purdue was fifth at 586 (+2).
The UNM Championship Course plays to a par of 73 over 6,351 yards.
Individually, junior All-American Tiffany Joh remained in contention with a second round score of 72 (-1). She was tied for seventh at 142 (-4), five shots off the lead. Joh birdied the final hole Tuesday to drop from even par on the day to one-under.
Freshman Maria Jose Uribe was tied for 15th place at 145 (-1) after posting a two-under par score of 71. Uribe improved eight spots in the second round.
Sophomore Sydnee Michaels and freshman Glory Yang were tied for 31st at 149 (+3). Michaels posted a 76 (+3) and Yang added a score of 75 (+2). Junior Ryann O'Toole struggled to a score of 80 (+7) and was tied for 80th place at 12-over par 158.
Final round competition continues Wednesday.
