Recruiting Class Ranked No. 11 In Nation

Sept. 25, 2007

The Washington baseball team's recruiting class for the 2008 season (this coming season's newcomers) has been ranked No. 11 in the nation in Collegiate Baseball's annual recruiting class rankings.

The 16-man class includes four players who were selected in last June's Major League Baseball draft, but who elected to come to the UW rather than signing: Geoff Brown (Mill Creek/Jackson HS), Julien Pollard (Tacoma/Washington HS), Sean Meehan (Centralia) and Forrest Snow (Seattle/Lakeside).

The Huskies' class was the fourth-highest rated among Pac-10 teams, behind No. 3 Oregon State, No. 5 UCLA and No. 8 Arizona State. Stanford, Arizona and USC also made the top 40 while California among 'others considered.'

The UW baseball team, under 16th-year head coach Ken Knutson, are currently in their second week of fall practice. Next Saturday, Oct. 6, the Huskies hold their annual Alumni Games at Husky Ballpark.
