There are five non-conference games on the docket for Pac-10 teams this week as the league gears up for Conference play the first weekend of October ... Four teams head into the week in the national rankings, led by UCLA (3-3-1) which placed in at No. 7 in the Top Drawer Soccer poll ... Joining the Bruins in the same poll are CALIFORNIA (4-2-1), ranked 17th, STANFORD (3-2-2), ranked 25th, and WASHINGTON (5-2-1), coming in at No. 14 ... The Pac-10 has also been solid in the national rankings as three teams are among the nation's best in shutout percentage, including Washington (9th, 0.63), Cal (t42nd, 0.43) and SAN DIEGO STATE (4-2-1) (t42nd, 0.43) ... The Bears picked up two wins last week as FR F Andrew Wiedeman registered two shots and two goals in the 2-1 win over Davidson on Friday ... His game-winner brings him to five points on the season, which leads the team and ties for 10th in the league ... OREGON STATE (3-5-0) recorded a split in its Zaher/Hensor Memorial Tournament, picking up a 1-0 shutout of Loyola (Md.) on Saturday ... JR GK Packy Deenihan allowed only one goal on the weekend, making six saves and posting a 0.50 goals against average ... Deenihan ranks sixth in the Pac-10 with 15 saves for a 1.88 saves per game average ... San Diego State won the UNLV Tournament over the weekend, notching wins over Missouri State, 1-0, and Drake, 2-1 ... The Aztecs were recognized for their efforts as SR MF Kraig Chiles and SO F/D Jamel Wallace were named to the Top Drawer Soccer Team of the Week and College Soccer News Team of the Week, respectively ... Wallace was also named Pac-10 Player of the Week ... SDSU leads the Conference with a four-game winning streak ... The Cardinal also put together two wins over the weekend as SR F Dan Shapiro scored three goals, two of which were game-winners, as Stanford took care of Princeton, 3-1, and Denver, 2-0 ... Shapiro totaled six points, nine shots and six shots on goal over the weekend ... UCLA defeated 12th-ranked San Francisco, 1-0, on Thursday, but lost a 2-1 heartbreaker in overtime to No. 4 Santa Clara on Saturday ... SO D Chance Myers scored a dramatic goal in the 88th minute to break the scoreless tie against the Dons, propelling the Bruin win ... Washington played three games last week, including a 1-0 win over Furman on Sunday which gave UW head coach Dean Wurzberger his 200th career victory ... The Huskies reached another landmark as they defeated Portland, 1-0, on Tuesday for the 500th win in the history of the Washington program.
