Pac-10 women's soccer wraps up the month of September with a handfulof games this week, starting off with a Tues., Sept. 25 ARIZONA STATE (4-3-0) match at New Mexico ... With just two weeks left of non-conference regular season play, the Pac-10 is 49-24-5 (.660) ...ARIZONA (4-4-0) will host the Cats' Classic in Tucson, facingCreighton and San Diego State ... The Wildcats suffered identical 1-0losses to Virginia Tech and No. 1 Santa Clara last week ... The SunDevils look to get back to their winning ways as they too will playboth Creighton and San Diego State ... Both teams have been solid ondefense, as Arizona is tied for second in the Pac-10 in saves (32)and ASU has given up just five goals all season to rank second in theleague ... CALIFORNIA (6-2-0) split its road trip over the weekend,picking up a 1-0 edging of Kansas on Sunday ... SO GK Gina Pellegrinirecorded a career-high six saves in the win ... Pellegrini andcompany have been outstanding as the Bears have given up just sixgoals on the year, good enough to rank third in the league ... OREGON (5-3-0) also split on the road as it scored five goals to Illinois State's one on Sunday ... JR MF Allison Newton tallied four shotsand three goals in two games ... Newton now leads the Ducks inscoring with five goals on the year and has entered the school'sTop-5 in career goals (11) and points (28) ... SR F Jodie Taylor added another goal to her league-leading 10 scores this season, as she netted a second-half goalagainst the Broncos ... STANFORD (7-1-0) dropped Colorado, 1-0,on Friday, but suffered its first loss of the season in a 1-0 defeatto Denver in the Colorado Soccer Classic on Sunday ... FR GK KiraMaker made just her second and third career starts over the weekend,allowing one goal and registering six saves ... Maker is competingwith JR GK Alex Gamble for the goalkeeper duties, while regularstarter SR GK Erica Holland sits with a finger injury ... UCLA(4-1-2) went unbeaten last week, tying up Pepperdine 1-1 throughdouble-overtime on Friday and beating Hawaii, 6-0 on Sunday ... TheBruins, ranked as high as eighth in three major polls, are unbeatenin their last six matches ... USC (6-1-1) jumped up to second placein the Pac-10 with two 2-0 shutouts over the weekend ... SO GKKristin Olsen has been unbeatable in goal as she ran her solo shutouttally up to five with back-to-back shutouts over Oakland andMichigan ... Olsen ranks 29th in the nation in goals against average(.484) ... WASHINGTON (2-7-0) is looking to get back in the wincolumn this weekend as it dropped a trio of games going back toWednesday of last week ... The Huskies rank atop the league in saves,averaging 4.33 per contest, having amassed 39 thus far thisseason ... WASHINGTON STATE (5-1-1) split a pair of games at the UNLV Rebel Classic last weekend, defeating Nevada 1-0 on Sunday ... SR GKBrynn Bemis stopped 14 of 15 shots over both matches, including alleight in the win over the Wolf Pack ... Bemis also recorded hersecond shutout on the season and 10th of her career to tie for thirdon the WSU all-time list.
