Volley-Blog: Alison Simmons
Sept. 26, 2007
Every Wednesday during the season a different senior Husky Volleyball player will write a blog entry for GoHuskies.com. This week we hear from setter Alison Simmons.
We just got home from defeating Oregon and Oregon State this past weekend and it was a blast to finally start our Pac-10 season! It was a great win for us because we were down 2-0 and then fought back to prove ourselves, winning it in five games! It was a strong victory for us and I think we can all agree that it says a lot about our team and our willingness to fight for what's ours! We now head into the second week of season and we are getting ready to play our in-state rival Washington State! Grr!!! Actually it is kind of funny because my Dad graduated from WSU so it is always fun for me to give him a hard time about being a Coug! No worries, though, he is now a Husky at heart!!! It is sad, though, because this weekend will be our last bus trip for the season ... you would think I would be happy about that but personally I think bus rides are amazing!! We get to watch movies, laugh our heads off, make music about the back of the bus and color!! Coloring is the new trend for some of the girls on the team. This is the crayon, and princess coloring that I am talking about! I personally love it! You should try it for yourself it is surprisingly very relaxing to feel like a little kid again, except this time you can stay inside the lines!!
We start school this week, which for me is bittersweet because it my last first day of school because I am finally a senior! Yay! Most of us are not ready to get back to having to balance our time between school and volleyball because for the past two months all we have had to do is play volleyball! But I guess that is life!! I guess that's it from me for now! We are all counting down the days until our first official home match of the year! It's next weekend and I expect to see all Husky fans out to support your UW vballers!!!
See ya later!
