Stanford's Foluke Akinradewo Named Pac-10 Volleyball Player of the Week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif.-- Stanford middle blocker Foluke Akinradewo has been named the Pac-10 Volleyball Player of the Week for Sept. 24- 31, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.
Akinradewo, a junior from Plantation, Fla., helped the Cardinal sweep two top-five opponents over the weekend, No. 4 USC and No. 5 UCLA. In these two matches, she averaged 5.00 kills, 1.67 blocks, and 6.25 points per game.
Against No. 4 USC, Akinradewo led the team with 18 kills on 25 attempts with one error (.680). She also added four digs as Stanford defeated USC, 3-0.
On Friday night against No. 5 UCLA, she continued her offensive attack by adding 12 more kills in 22 attempts and again only committing one error, hitting .500. She also put up six blocks in the sweep of UCLA, 3-0.
This is the third weekly honor for Akinradewo, and Stanford's 61st Pac-10 Player of the Week all-time.
