Clayton Wins Second Round Match in All-American Qualifying

Freshman Alex Clayton won his second match in as many days in the qualifying rounds at the Polo Ralph Lauren All-American Tennis Championships at the University of Tulsa's Michael D. Case Tennis Center. Clayton will face Ed Corrie of Texas tomorrow for the right to advance to the main draw.

Clayton disposed of Max Jones today in straight sets, 6-2, 6-1. He teamed with sophomore Richard Wire in the opening match of the doubles qualifying round. The Cardinal duo beat Lee Singer and Sanam Singh of Virginia, 9-8 (5) and were set to play Bryan Koniecko and Steven Moneke of Ohio State Tuesday evening in the second round.

Stanford's Matt Bruch will play in the main singles draw that begins on Oct. 4 and Bruch and Blake Muller will compete in the main doubles draw.
