San Diego State Goalkeeper Brad Byrns Named Pac-10 Men's Soccer Player of the Week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif.-- SAN DIEGO STATE redshirt freshman goalkeeper Brad Byrns has been named the Pac-10 Men's Soccer Player of the Week for Sept. 25- Oct. 1, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.

Byrns, from Alamo, Calif., earned his fourth shutout in five games as the Aztecs tied No. 25 UC Irvine, 0-0, in double-overtime on Saturday. Byrns played all 110 minutes in net and had four saves, including one in which he dove to the right to save a sure goal in the 12th minute preserving the scoreless tie.

This season, Byrns is 4-1-2 on the season with a 0.65 goals against average and 81.5 save percentage.

This is Byrns' first weekly honor and the sixth all-time award for the Aztecs.
