Women's Golf Heads West for the Edean Ihlanfeldt Initational

What's Happening This Week: The Washington State women's golf team travels to Sammamish, Wash., to compete in the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational at the par-72, 6,127-yard Sahalee Country Club...the three-day tournament begins Oct. 8 with a shotgun start at 9 a.m....the Cougars will be paired with San Francisco and tee off from hole 10...live scoring and complete results will be available at www.golfstat.com.

In the Rankings: In the latest Golfstat team ratings, the Washington State women rank 38th.

The Field: The field of 16 teams pairs Washington State with eight Pacific-10 Conference rivals and seven teams ranked in the top-25 at www.golfstat.com...the ranked teams include No. 3 USC, No. 4 Arizona State, No. 7 Arizona, No. 9 New Mexico, No. 11 California, No. 17 Pepperdine and No. 24 BYU...the remaining teams include Oregon, Oregon State, Stanford, Washington, Long Beach State, Penn State, UNLV and San Francisco.

Traveling for the Cougars: Five Cougars will be traveling to take a swing at victory in Sammamish, Wash. Monday...the Cougar contingent includes seniors Brooke Henderson and Tracy Broders, juniors Amy Eneroth and Jessica Black and sophomore Diana Hong.

Last Time Out: The same five Cougar women traveling to Sammamish also dominated the field their last time out at the Giustina Memorial...the women never gave up their share of the lead carding a three-day total of 886 (+22) at the par-72, 6,271-yard Trysting Tree Golf Club...the victory marked the 18th win in school history and the 12th for current head coach Walt Williams with the women...the team finished 14 strokes ahead of Oregon State...Eneroth led the Cougars with a three-round total of 219 (+3) and finished in second place...her top 10 performance put her in sole possession of third place on the career top 10 list (13) at WSU...two other Cougars cracked the top 10 including Hong, who finished tied for fifth, and Broders who took ninth.
