Sun Devils Fall 5-2 to University of Portland.

In the first match of the day, the Arizona State men's tennis team took on the University of Portland. The Sun Devils fell 5-2 to the Pilots.

Freshman Paul Chappell won in his collegiate debut, 6-1, 6-3 over Bryan Thorpe in the No. 6 position. He also helped garner a doubles victory for the Sun Devils with Wes Miller. The duo won their doubles match 8-3 over Evan Schleining and Joel Kincaid. The doubles team of Murilo Souza and Patrick Brogan also won their doubles match, 8-2.

After losing a hard fought first set, Wes Miller fell to Kincaid 7-6, 6-2. In another close match, junior TJ Bellama fell 6-4, 3-6, (14-12) to Filip Zivkovic. Dillon Pottish of Portland University defeated Jack Marsh 6-3, 6-2.

Although Souza fought hard in second set, he fell 6-2, 7-5 to Yemm in the No. 4 spot. In the No. 5 spot, Patrick Brogan also lost his match 6-3, 6-0.

In doubles, Marsh and Bellama fell to Zivkovic and Yemm 6-1, 6-3.

The Sun Devils continue play at the Pre-Regional Tournament at UC Irvine throughout the weekend.
