Cal Takes Second at San Francisco State Invitational

SAN FRANCISCO - The California men's and women's cross country teams both took second in the San Francisco State Invitational Saturday morning at Golden Gate Park. The Cal men finished with 40 points and the Cal women finished with 71 points. Chico State won the men's race with 33 points and San Francisco won the women's race with 48 points.

The Golden Bear women placed three runners in the top 15. Sophomore Alison Greggor placed fourth (22:38) on the 6K course, while freshman Rowena Tam took seventh (22:50) and fellow freshman Taylor Bryson finished 11th (23:08).

USF's Michelle Born claimed the women's individual crown, clocking in at 22:25.

Junior Eric Lee paced the Cal men by placing fourth (25:34). Two other juniors for the Bears grabbed top-15 placings. Matt Miller grabbed fifth (25:41), while Dawit Tesfasilassie took 15th (26:08).

Antonio Miramontes (unattached) claimed the men's individual crown, crossing the finish line at 25:12.

Cal returns to action at the Pre-NCAA meet Saturday, Oct. 13.
