Bradford, Egboh, Weber Named U.S. Bank Pac-10 Players of the Week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif.--Wide receiver Mark Bradford and defensive endPannel Egboh of Stanford and kicker Thomas Weber of Arizona State,have been named U.S. Bank Pac-10 Football Players of the Week.
Bradford and Egboh played key roles in Stanford's 24-23 upset victoryat No. 2-ranked USC, a result considered one of the greatest upsetsin college football history.
Bradford, a senior from Los Angeles, Calif., playing in his hometown,caught the game-winning touchdown pass from 10 yards out with 49second remaining in the game. It was one of his five receptions for87 yards (17.4) in the game.
Egboh, a junior from Mesquite, Tex., keyed Stanford's defensiveeffort in the win. Egboh posted 10 tackles, six solo, including 2.5tackles for loss (-13) and 1.5 quarterback sacks (-11), and blocked aTrojan PAT attempt in a play that proved critical in the one-pointwin. The Stanford defense limited USC to just 95 yards rushing,forced five turnovers, including four interceptions with one returnedfor a touchdown, and posted four quarterback sacks (-29).
Weber, a freshman from Downey, Calif., earned special teams player ofthe week honors for the second week in a row for his role in ArizonaState's 23-20 road win at Washington State. Weber booted the game-winning field goal from 37 yards out with 50 seconds remaining in thegame. He also had four of his five kickoffs go for touchbacks, andpunted for the first time in his college career, averaging 41.5 yardson six punts, with a long of 50 yards and two kicks downed inside the10-yard line.
Others nominated for offensive player of the week honors weretailbacks Yvenson Bernard of Oregon State and Ryan Torain of Arizona State. Also nominated on defense were cornerbacks Brandon Hughes of Oregon State and Justin Tryon of Arizona State and linebacker Andy Mattingly of Washington State.
