Burduli Captures Title at the USTA Women's Collegiate Invitational

FLUSHING, N.Y.-Senior Ekaterina Burduli won the A flight title Monday morning in the USTA NTC Women's College Invitational at the USTA National Tennis Center.
A Tel Aviv, Israel native, Burduli downed Dartmouth's Molly Scott, 6-2, 6-2 to win her second tournament of the season.
'We are all proud of Eka and the way she fought through the tournament,' WSU Head Coach Lisa Hart said. 'She is such a fierce competitor and faced tough competition throughout the tournament. She was determined from the very beginning to win this event and that is exactly what she did.'
Budruli defeated Princeton's Ivana King in the quarterfinal round and benefited from a default in the semifinal round to advance to the Monday finals.
The finals victory, her fourth of the tournament, pushes her season record 8-1. She now has 71 career victories, ties her for eighth all time in WSU history.
