Washington's Christal Morrison Named Pac-10 Volleyball Player of the Week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif.-- Washington outside hitter Christal Morrison has been named the Pac-10 Volleyball Player of the Week for Oct. 8- 14, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.
Morrison, a senior from Puyallup, Wash., helped the Huskies to a split against No. 10 California and previously unbeaten No. 2 Stanford. In the 3-2 loss to Cal, Morrison had a team-high 21 kills, hit .370 and had eight digs. Against the Cardinal, Morrison recorded 19 kills and 13 digs for her sixth double-double of the year as the Huskies won in five games, 3-2.
Over the weekend, Morrison had 40 kills (4.00 kpg) and 21 digs (2.10 dpg).
This is the fifth weekly honor for Morrison, and Washington's 22nd Pac-10 Player of the Week all-time.
