The first weekend of Pac-10 play is in the books, and this year'schampion is anybody's guess as there are solid teams top tobottom ... ARIZONA STATE (2-0-0, 8-5-0), STANFORD (1-0-0, 10-1-1), UCLA (2-0-0, 9-1-2) and USC (2-0-0, 10-1-1) all came away unbeaten on the weekend as the Trojans, Bruins and Sun Devils are in a tie for first place in the Pac-10 with six points a piece ... The Cardinalhave three points as they faced their traditional rival, CALIFORNIA(0-1-0, 8-3-0) on Sunday ... ASU SO MF Carly Kallas helped her teamtake a 3-0 win over WASHINGTON (1-1-0, 4-8-0) on Friday, followed bya 1-0 overtime defeat of No. 25 WASHINGTON STATE (1-1-0, 8-2-2) onSunday ... Kallas earned one assist against UW, and was instrumentalcontrolling the center of the field to help post two Sun Devilshutouts ... The Cougars' overtime defeat was just their second lossall season, as they were coming off the heels of a 3-1 win overARIZONA (0-2-0, 5-8-0) on Friday ... Cougar SO F Kiersten Dallstreamtallied two goals in the win, bringing her season total to sevengoals ... She also notched her second game-winner and second two-goalmatch on the year ... The Wildcats will play at the Oregon schoolsthis weekend ... UA split with the two teams last year, picking up a2-0 win over the Beavers ... In the marquee matchups of the week,the Los Angeles schools will travel to the Bay Area for showdownsthat will not only factor in the Conference race, but the nationalscene, as well ... Depending on which poll you reference, No. 1Stanford (Top Drawer Soccer/Soccer Buzz) will host No. 1 UCLA (SoccerAmerica) on Fri., Oct. 19, as well as No. 3 USC (Soccer Buzz) onSun., Oct. 21 ... Golden Bear JR F Valerie Barnes registered a goal and anassist against Stanford on Sunday, her first game back sincesuffering a knee injury at Cal State Fullerton on Sept. 14 ...
