Jeff Larish Selected For Arizona Fall League's Rising Stars Showcase Game

Oct. 24, 2007

TEMPE, Ariz. - Former Sun Devil baseball standout Jeff Larish has been named to the Arizona Fall League's Rising Stars Showcase Game, which will take place on Friday, October 26 at Surprise Stadium. Larish, who is playing for the Peoria Saguaros, was a fifth round pick of the Detroit Tigers in 2005. He was named the Tigers Minor League Player of the Year following the 2007 season.

The Rising Stars Showcase is the Fall League's version of Major League Baseball's Futures Game, which leads off the annual All-Star Game festivities each July. Each big league club will have at least one player in the game. Scouting and minor league directors of every organization selected the players for the Showcase Game. Larish becomes the second Sun Devil to play in the Showcase, joining Travis Buck, who played in 2006. Buck made his Major League debut with the Oakland Athletics in 2007.
