Volley-Blog: Christal Morrison
Oct. 24, 2007
Every Wednesday during the season a different senior Husky Volleyball player will write a blog entry for GoHuskies.com. This week we hear from Christal Morrison, who was named Pac-10 Player of the Week on Monday for the second straight week.
Well it was another fun weekend!! The house was packed against USC and it was so much fun to play in front of our home crowd. We had some awesome recruits in over the weekend so on Saturday we went bowling in the Hub as a team and it was so much fun. Let me tell you we have some master bowlers on the team. Keno and Tui put a twist on the game, though, and gave rules of how to bowl each frame. For example, frame 4 was you had to bowl while hopping on one leg, and frame 8 was you had to bowl through the legs of your teammates. It was really funny when Jill got the terrific idea to run down the bowling lane without a ball and try to knock down the pins herself, but didn't slide far enough so she stopped about 5 feet short of the pins and had to get up and walk back so she could just bowl the ball. It was hilarious; I give her props for trying it though.
We all went to the football game that afternoon on Saturday and we also had the parade of champions so the girls from last year's team got announced at half time. It was a fun weekend and we got some time to rest, which was nice too. Getting back in the gym will be good though. We're excited for this weekend and our game against WSU. It's alumni night so it will be fun to see all the alumni from the past years. We're going to be training hard to prepare for this weekend and keep focusing on getting better every day that we're in the gym.
