Washington Forward Ely Allen Named Pac-10 Men's Soccer Player of the Week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif.-- WASHINGTON senior forward Ely Allen has been named the Pac-10 Men's Soccer Player of the Week for Oct. 23-29, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.
Allen, from Kent, Wash., scored his Conference-leading eighth goal of the season against No. 24 UCLA to help the Huskies beat the Bruins, 1-0 on Sunday. Allen scored the game's only goal in the 24th minute while rushing the UCLA goalkeeper on a clearance that hit Allen in the chest and made its way into the goal.
Allen's eight goals are a career-high and he has scored five goals in the last four games.
Washington (2-3-1, 7-6-2) has this week off, but will take on the Bay Area schools, California and Stanford, at home next week.
This is Allen's second weekly honor and the 18th all-time award for the Huskies.
