Huskies Finish 14th At Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown

LAS VEGAS, Nev. - Sophomore Christina Yoon shot 1-over 73 to lead Washington during the final round of the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown, Wednesday. Yoon finished the three-day tournament tied for 26th, while the Huskies ended up 14th on the team leaderboard.
As a squad, Washington carded a final round score of 20-over 308 and finished at 53-over 917. No. 16 Denver, the only squad to finish the tournament under-par, claimed the team title at 6-under 858. The Pioneers finished 11 strokes ahead of second-place and No. 9 Arizona (5-over 869). No. 13 Kent State rounded the top three teams at 10-over 874.
Yoon was the Huskies' top finisher ending the tournament at 7-over 223. Yoon duplicated her first round score of 1-over 73 on Wednesday. She carded a 5-over 77 in the second round.
Sophomore Molly Aronsson shot a 6-over 87 in the final round and finished tied for 51st at 12-over 228. Rounding out the Husky lineup were freshman Karinn Dickinson who tied for 61st (78-73-79-230), freshman Nicole Ferrero who tied for 75th (76-82-78-236) and sophomore Molly Boyle who tied for 90th (32-over 248).
Denver's Katie Kempter won medalist honors, finishing 8-under 208.The tournament marks the end of the fall season for the Huskies who will next take to the links at the Arizona Invitational, Feb. 25-27, in Tucson, Ariz.
