Cougar Soccer Standout Brooke Bemis Earns Academic Honor

PULLMAN, Wash. - Washington State senior soccer forward Brooke Bemis was named to the ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-District VIII First Team, Thursday.

A native of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, Bemis carries a 3.84 grade point average in history. This is the second straight year Bemis has earned an all-district honor. She was a third team selection in 2006. It marks the sixth straight year at least one Cougar soccer student-athlete has garnered all-district recognition.

On the field, Bemis is tied for the team lead with eight goals and has been an integral part of the Cougars' nationally ranking and 10-2-3 season. She was recently named Pacific-10 Conference Player of the Week after
