Kyle Hency Named Pac-10 Men's Soccer Player Of The Week

Walnut Creek, Calif. - Stanford redshirt senior midfielder Kyle Hency has beennamed the Pac-10 Men's Soccer Player of the Week for Oct. 30- Nov. 5, CommissionerTom Hansen announced today.

Hency, from Waterloo, Ill., helped the Cardinal defeat the first and second place teamsin the Pac-10, UCLA and San Diego State, respectively. Against the Bruins, Hency shottwice and made the game winning goal to secure the 2-1 win over UCLA. Against SanDiego State, Hency led the Cardinal with two goals on four shots to give them the 3-0victory.

In the past two games, Hency scored both the game winning goals and fired six shots,scoring on half of his attempts.

Stanford (6-4-5, 3-2-2 Pac-10) will resume play this weekend as the Cardinal takes on OregonState on Friday, November 9 and Washington on Sunday, November 11.

This is Hency's first weekly honor and the ninth all-time award for the Cardinal.
