Rachel Buehler Named to ESPN The Magazine All-District VIII First Team

Stanford women's soccer player Rachel Buehler was named to the ESPN The Magazine All-District VII Team last week, making her eligible to receive Academic All-American honors later in the season.
Buehler, a redshirt senior defender from Del Mar, Calif., has a led a Cardinal defense that has only allowed 0.80 goals per game. She has started every match for Stanford on the season, leading the team to a 13-2-3 record. Buehler, who earlier this year was named a US Women's National team pool player, has been named to the All-Academic team for three straight years. She has a perfect 4.0 GPA at Stanford, while earning her degree in human biology.
The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) selects All-America teams in 12 different sports. Only first-team selections are eligible to be included on the 2007 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America Team.
Buehler is also up for consideration for the NCAA Top VII Award and for the Lowe's Senior Award, which you can vote for at www.seniorclassaward.com.
