Dennis Erickson Named Semifinalist For 19th Annual George Munger Coach of the Year Award

TEMPE, Ariz. - Arizona State University first-year head football coach Dennis Erickson has been named a semifinalist for the 19th annual George Munger Award, presented annually to the nation's top college coach.

Erickson has led the Sun Devils to an 8-1 record so far during his first season in Tempe, getting ASU bowl eligible for the fourth straight season. Erickson holds a career record of 156-66-1 and has twice been named the Pacific-10 Conference Coach of the Year. The Sun Devils earned their highest BCS Standings rating this year at No. 4.

The Maxwell Football Club will announce the winner of the 19th George Munger Award via a press release in December. The formal presentation of the award will be made at the Maxwell Football Club's Awards Dinner, to be held on Friday March 7, 2008 at the Harrah's Entertainment Complex in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
