Volley-Blog: Alesha Deesing
Nov. 14, 2007
Every Wednesday during the season a different senior Husky Volleyball player will write a blog entry for GoHuskies.com. This week we hear from All-American Middle Blocker Alesha Deesing.
Dear Husky Fans,
Can you believe we are already finishing up the last two weeks of Pac-10 games? It amazes me every year just how fast the season flies by. I'm still trying to come to the realization that I am a senior and this is my last college season. When I think back on these years, I cannot help but smile from all the great memories I have shared with all of you. I am truly blessed that God has placed such wonderful people in my life and given me the opportunities and experiences I have had has a Husky athlete thus far. I have learned a lot about myself and I feel I have developed a better understanding on how to approach life and its everyday obstacles.
What I love about this game is the challenges it presents. Very few people get this opportunity to compete at such a high level and the demands to succeed are extremely high. It takes a strong individual to conquer the mind and continually thrive for change and growth. Each person on this team has a great desire to better themselves, thus bettering the team as a whole, which makes this journey together a lot of fun. I love how we are able to come together, despite our differences, and fight for a common goal. I appreciate our ability to overcome adversity and take from it what we can and leave the rest behind. Most of all, I love how each individual, in someway or another, impacts another person's life forever, whether it be a coach, player, or fan.
As many of you know, we love to compete and this week we are looking forward to traveling to Cali to take on SC and the Bruins. We are expecting them to have their best match of the year, so as always we are working hard in the gym and preparing for the challenge. Thank you all for being a part of this team's journey! We truly appreciate all of your support.
