All-Time Great Debbie Green To Be Honored During Saturday's Match

Nov. 15, 2007

LOS ANGELES -- Former USC women's volleyball player Debbie Green will be honored during the USC-Washington State match on Saturday (Nov. 17) at the Galen Center. The ceremony, dubbed 'All-Time Great Night' will be the second held this season after USC recognized Paula Weishoff earlier this season.

Considered by many as one of the top setters in women's volleyball history, Green was inducted into the Volleyball Hall of Fame in 1995 and the AVCA Hall of Fame in 2004. She was a two-time Olympian in 1980 and 1984 and was named to USA Volleyball's 1978-2002 All-Era Team.

Green led USC to the 1976 and 1977 AIAW national championship with the 1977 squad becoming the first collegiate squad to go undefeated (38-0).

Currently, she is the assistant women's coach at Long Beach State.
