USC Adds Alison Ramos To Tennis Program

Nov. 15, 2007

The USC women's tennis team has added another talented local player to its roster, as the Women of Troy received a national letter of intent from Carson native Alison Ramos this week, USC head coach Richard Gallien has announced. Ramos comes to Troy as one of the top recruits in the nation.

'Alison's always been ranked in the top 10 in the nation in her age group,' Gallien said. 'I've seen Alison play for four years and I've always been impressed with not only her talent, but she's also easily one of the best three competitors in the country. Tennis-wise she's athletic and fast, and comes with great fundamentals. She certainly will add a great deal of enthusiasm and leadership to our team.'

A standout at nearby Troy High School, Ramos holds a 53-18 overall singles record. This year, she has posted championship wins at the Los Caballeros, the SoCal Sectional Championships, Roxy Junior and Anaheim TC tournaments.

She will join the Women of Troy next season, joining the USC roster in 2008.
