Kondos Field's Riptide Show Wins National Honors

Riptide, the SeaWorld show that is directed and choreographed by UCLA gymnastics head coach Valorie Kondos Field, has won a national award for Best Overall Production: $1,000,000 - $2,000,000 or More at the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) 2007 Big 'E' Awards.

UCLA team manager and former Bruin gymnast Ashley Martin has been a performer and Performance Manager for the show. Past performers for Riptide, which has been running for three years, have included former NCAA Champions and UCLA stars Kristen Maloney and Yvonne Tousek, as well as All-Americans Nicolle Ford from Utah and Calli Ryals from Michigan. Bruin junior Ariana Berlin performed in the first Riptide show as a dancer.

The 'Big E' awards are the most prestigious awards in the attractions industry honoring live entertainment.
