No. 5 UW takes on No. 8 USC on Live TV
Nov. 16, 2007
LOS ANGELES - The fifth-ranked Washington Huskies take on No. 8 USC tonight in a crucial Pac-10 matchup that will air live on FSN Northwest at 7:30 p.m.
Washington (23-2, 12-2 Pac-10) sits a half-game back of first place Stanford (24-2, 13-2 Pac-10) and two games in front of third place USC (21-4, 10-4 Pac-10). The Huskies swept the Trojans earlier this season in Seattle behind double-doubles from Christal Morrison and Stevie Mussie.
In that match, Morrison led all players with 17 kills and added 10 digs while Mussie chipped in 13 kills and 13 digs. Asia Kaczor led USC with 14 kills.
USC leads the all-time series 32-14, but Washington has won five of the past seven, including two in a row. The Huskies last win in Los Angeles came in 2005, the same year they captured the National Title.
The Trojans have a 21-match winning streak at the Galen Center, which opened in the middle of last season. USC dropped its first ever match in the new arena on Oct. 12, 2006, losing 3-0 to Stanford, but has won every match at home since that date.
FSN Northwest will be the only FSN region to carry the game live, all other regions will broadcast the game on tape delay. Fans should check their local listings for dates and times in their area.
