This is accomplished by offering structure and positive alternatives to alienation and juvenile delinquency through comprehensive programs in education, health, gang prevention and intervention, social and cultural enrichment, sports and recreational activities, which emphasize family involvement, pride in the community, and academic excellence.
The Mark Wahlberg Youth Foundation was established for the purpose of raising and distributing funds to youth service and enrichment programs. Established in May 2001 by Mark Wahlberg, a lifelong member and advocate of the Boys and Girls Clubs of America. Mark came from a family of nine children and spent most of his afternoons and evenings at his local club.
